Nick Winkler
A.K.A "The Sports Guy" and "Saint Nick"
Nick Winkler (A.K.A. The Sports Guy and Saint Nick) is a great friend of mine who I've known for several years. He and I have been on many (championship-winning) softball teams – we have the t-shirts to prove it – had lots of fun doing so, and I consider him to be a great person. We've also been to a number of professional sporting events together, and although he prefers the San Francisco teams and I prefer the Oakland franchises, we still get along well. We're always rubbing it in when our team does well and the other's does not. Good times!
Nick is a man of many talents. Having graduated from California State University of Monterey Bay (CSUMB) in the summer of 2006 as a Communications major, Nick's career has gotten off to an insanely fast start. He is currently the voice of 103.9 FM The X's Nick the Sports Guy and 104.3 FM The Hippo's Saint Nick. Nick hosts 103.9 FM The X's Workday Revolution weekdays 9:00AM - 3:00PM, featuring one of my favorite broadcast programming pieces called The Flashback Lunch from noon to 1:00PM; this spot focuses on rock and hip-hop anthems!! From Wu-Tang to Spin Doctors, TLC to Bon Jovi – it's playing on The Flashback Lunch.
Additionally, he's been in many, many, many of your favorite local on-air radio commercials, quite often using a disguised voice. We at brettroby.com have taken the liberty of posting a few of these commercials for your listening pleasure.
