Logo Design (and more)

"What is this page all about?" you ask. Well it's somewhat of an all-encompassing page, as I offer many things related to logo design; I specialize in logo creation and logo recovery, though. Check out the examples below.

Logo Creation

Nisene Technology Group

This was my first commercially used logo, and one of which I'm extremely proud. Let me give you a quick background about this logo. Nisene Technology Group (NTG), which is where I work as my "day job," had been using this logo for several years. This logo was created when a completely different set of employees worked for NTG, and we needed to change it up to signify "a new era" in our company's life.

I took the old logo and reworked it, giving it a more "forward" feel and freshening up the drab red, white, and blue color scheme. Don't get me wrong: I love the good ol' red, white, and blue, but its use for our logo was outdated and — quite simply — kind of ugly. I went with an all-new color scheme, but tried to keep the look familiar so that our current customers would recognize that NTG was still NTG. Have a look at what our old logo looked like versus what my new logo looks like by clicking here.

If you have a look at the sunburst in the old logo, I took that and flipped it on its vertical axis (i.e. I turned it so it was facing the opposite direction); I also rotated it a little bit to look the way I wanted it. This gave it that "moving forward" feel I was trying to capture. Additionally, I redid the swoosh graphic completely; I removed the curved line altogether and replaced it with a simpler ornament that uses the same gradation as the sunburst. To finish this logo, I de-emphasized the "Technology Group" portion of by increasing the font size of "Nisene" and really making the "Technology Group" text noticably smaller; further, I moved that portion of our company's name off the same plane in an effort to separate the text. The old logo had all of the text as the same size and on the same plane, and when you really think about it, the important word in our company's name is "Nisene" — the "Technology Group" text really doesn't matter. Therefore, I thought it was a good idea to emphasize "Nisene."

Another cool thing about this logo's reception by the owners of NTG and others is that now it's on our building as a HUGE sign. You know your logo has "made it" when it gets put on a building. Click here to view a picture of my logo on our building. That sign is approximately 10' wide and 3' tall.

SB90

This was a fun logo to design. My buddy, officer Dominic Bitonti, was in the midst of his police academy when he decided that he wanted to have t-shirts made for the his squad that was going through the academy together. As such, a fresh logo was needed. He told me that he liked the idea of of the GI Joe logo, but basically left it up to me beyond that. I found an image of the GI Joe logo (seen here), and the rest is history.
